How to have a sound
play continuously?
For Web Creator 2 and Presenter 5 use the
feature Background sound in Project properties
1- Place a sound object on a page.
2- Next, modify that page to uncheck the
option 'Close this page when no longer on
top'. Result: The sound object will not
be remove from memory when linking to the
other pages.
3- All the next pages, that will go over
the one containing the sound, must have
the option "Keep background pages accessible".
Can I cut and paste
from other Windows applications?
Yes. Texte will be unformatted (.TXT). Images
retain their original format. They will
be resized and converted to web friendly
formats when publishing, as with all other
images. Most other elements (Tables, Excel
graphs etc.) will be pasted using the Windows
Metafile format (.EMF or .WMF)
How can I
start an animation/video from a click on
an element?
You can use the « control bar »
option in the animation settings dialog
box. This will put a small control bar underneath
the animation/video. It works, but it is
not very esthetic. You may want to start
the video from a button or any other element
on the page.
With Web Creator 2 and Presenter 5 use the
Event/Action option of the element to be
clicked. Then complete the sentence as follows:
When
the mouse button is released then
the element Video1
will play
If
the video was not initially visible on the
page (visible option unchecked) a sentence
with the action: will show needs to be added
as well. Clicking on the element will cause
the video to start. Another sentence can
be completed with another element to stop
or even make the video disappear using the
"hide" action.
With older versions it is possible to avoid
the control bar by using two pages A and
B. This only works for CD-ROM application
because web browser do not support small
pages on top of a larger one.
1- Get the first frame of your animation
and make a image from it, of the same size
as the animation
2- Place this image on page A, and create
a link from it to a new page, called B
3- Give page B the same size and coordinates
as the first frame image (use the «
general object properties » for this)
4- Save page A, click on the image. This
will take you to a blank small page B
5- Place the animation in that small page
6- In the animation « link options
» , link the animation back to page
A, or any ther desired page. The result
: the animation starts whenever you click
into it, and clicking again stops it and
takes you to a new page.
How can I
delete a page from a project?
The safest way is to disconnect it from
the project by removing all the links to
that page. The reason why we don't provide
a more direct way is because some users
often forgot that they had put links to
that page from other pages in the project.
Leaving an unconnected .pag file in the
project is inconsequential, as .pag files
are very small. It may however clutter the
list of pages. To actually remove an unconnected
page you can go in the folder where your
project is saved and delete the .pag files.
Then they will no longer appear in the list
of pages.
A very good way to romeve all unused pages
and elements is to use "save as".
This will create a copy of the project in
the specified folder, where all components
of a project will be copied, but only those
actually used in the project. This includes
all elements (pages, images etc...). Unconnected
pages will be left behind. Then you can
start over editing with this cleaned up
version.
How can I enlarge
a photo ?
With Web Creator 2 and Presenter 5 this
action can be performed with the Action
tab of Image properties . Insert the image
twice. Reduce the first one to an icon.
Uncheck the Visible option for the second
one. Make it appear when clicking or passing
over the icon.
