Will MicroGDS translate
Autocad 3D data in DXF/DWG?
MicroGDS handles most
native AutoCAD 3D entities, using the OpenDWG
toolkit. However, 3D data produced using
modelling extensions to AutoCAD which use
ACIS or other complex 3D solids will not
be translated. If you experience problems
opening a DXF/DWG drawing, try to open it
with the DXFSCAN utility and create a simplified
file.
How do I create an object suitable
for a light?
1. First create a construction line between
the required light position and the position
to shine the light at.
2.
Move the axes to the end of this construction
line (the light source end) with X aligned
along the line.
3.
Spin around the Y axis by -90 degrees. This
will cause the (-z) axis to point down the
line of illumination.
4.
Create a new object for the light with its
origin (hook point) at the set axes origin
(0,0,0).
5.
Now create a simple graphic primitive such
as a rectangle and assign the required lightstyle
to it.
I've
created some graphics at the wrong object
scale, the graphics are correct but the
object scale is wrong. How do I remedy this?
Select the object, change the set axes scale
to the required scale. Now use the Object
Hook command and supply an O (origin) snap
on the selected/current object.
